      A personal invite to the public..........

     Hello and welcome to Flotilla 18-6s' website. We are based out of Alum Creek State Park. We invite you to come

     to our meetings and find out what the Coast Guard Auxiliary is about, what we can do for you and what you

     can do for us.

     In a nutshell....

     No military obligation or boot camp                     Must be at least 17 years old

     No time away from family or work                       Many opportunities on and off the water

     No prior military experience required                    Must be able to pass a background check

     No physical exams or exercises                            Attend "C" school class at Coast Guard Bases

     Great opportunity for active older adults               Make new friends

     Do not have to know how to swim                        Learn new skills

     Do not have to own your own boat                       Work your way up the "Ranks"

    Meetings.....

     Our meetings take place on the 2nd Tuesday of every month at 7:30 pm, unless we have member training.

     Then we will meet at 6:30 pm.We meet at the Ohio Department of  Natural Resources. This is located at

      2045 Morse Rd, Columbus, OH 43229. It is located on the northside of Columbus. We occasionally also

     meet at the O.D.N.R. Watercraft Building. This is located at 3615 S. Old State Road, Delaware, OH 43015.

     ABC classes....

     Our ABC classes or America's Boating Course are held from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays. These are

      a 1 day class. Please contact Erik Mowery for class locations and details. Class dates for 2008 are as follows:

     February 9, March 15, April 19, May 17, June 14, July 19 and August 16.  Advanced registration is required.
